Storytime’s Back in Session!

We’re starting storytime again tomorrow, after a month break.  I’m so out of practice—I almost forget what work is like when I’m “performing” to hundreds of parents and kids on an almost-daily basis.  So, yeah, I’m pretty darn nervous.  The butterflies are having a party in my stomach!

O, it’s like riding a bike. Down a 45 degree grade. With no brakes. Think of it like that. It’ll come back to you. And if it doesn’t, the chances that you’ll actually die from the fall are 50/50 at worse.

Okay. Maybe 60/40, but if you remember to roll when you hit the ground, you’ll destribute the wounds more evenly and leave a much purdier corpse.

There. Have I allayed your fears? You’re welcome.

You’ll be fine. Just remember to breathe. And, O, yeah, remember to keep your heart beating. As a matter of fact, just make sure all your autonomic body functions continue to do what they’re supposed to do.

Don’t you love it when people advse you to “just breathe” – as though you could forget?

“Sure, I’ll remember to breathe, but only if you promise to remember to keep drooling. O, that’s right … you don’t hafta remember. You do it automatically …”

Haha! Someone actually told me to “just breathe” the day after I read your comment. So funny!
